Realigning Your Priorities
We have talked in the past about Gods priorities for us as men.
We tend to forget the alignment and somehow through life’s natural chaos we let our priorities get out of wack… But First and foremost we must realize and live our number one priority which is seeking God.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:33:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
What does this mean?
This verse is part of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, where He teaches about trusting God rather than worrying about material needs like food, clothing, and shelter.
1. Seeking God First –
This means prioritizing God’s will, His righteousness, and His ways above everything else in life. It’s about making God the foundation of our decisions, desires, and daily living.
2. God’s Provision –
Jesus assures that when we put God first, He will provide for our needs.
This doesn’t necessarily mean wealth or luxury, although it could , but rather that God will take care of us in the way He knows is best for us.
3. Faith Over Worry –
The context of this verse (Matthew 6:25-34) contrasts faith with anxiety. Jesus tells His followers not to worry about their daily needs because God knows what they need and will provide for them.
Here is the Practical Application:
• Prioritize prayer, reading Scripture, and living according to God’s principles.
• Trust that God will provide, rather than obsessing over material gain.
• Live with faith, knowing that God is in control.
If we do these things it aligns our hearts with God’s will, and in doing so, we will find that He takes care of the rest!
