Why Full Surrender Unlocks the Power of the Holy Spirit

God tells us we must surrender all of ourself to Him before He can truly enter into your life.

God promises that once we do, He will take over and be with us always (The Holy Spirit.)

Let’s look at how this impacted Elijah’s story.

Elijah had always tried to do life on his own. He believed in God but kept control tightly in his own hands— until the day he broke down, tired of striving and failing. One night, he fell to his knees and whispered, “God, I surrender. Take me, all of me and do what You will.”

In that quiet moment, something changed. Just as Jesus promised in John 14, the Helper—the Holy Spirit—came to him. Not in a flash of thunder, but like a gentle wind, filling his heart with peace he couldn’t explain. It was as if a light had switched on inside him.

This was the turning point of Elijah’s story.

He began to see the world differently. The Bible came alive when he read it, just as Jesus said it would when the Spirit teaches and reminds us of His words. He felt nudged to forgive, to love, to speak truth with boldness—just like the apostles did after Pentecost when the Spirit descended in Acts 2.

Elijah wasn’t perfect, but now he was guided. When he felt weak, the Spirit gave him strength. When he didn’t know how to pray, the Spirit prayed through him, just as Paul described in Romans 8. He was no longer just living for himself. The Spirit had taken over—not by force, but by invitation. And Elijah knew, deep in his soul, that he was never alone again.

So what’s your story??

Maybe you have not fully surrendered your life - I will say when I did everything changed and like Elijah I am never alone.

It is an amazing feeling to know God is always with you! Take a moment now and search your inner most being and surrender your old ways and begin a new with God by your side.

Love you guys
